About Us

YOU CAN is a Michigan non-profit organization, founded in January 2006. The vision behind YOU CAN is to show people you can do anything you set your mind to do. It was birthed out of Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me.” Because I believe these words I was starting to feel incomplete and wanted to know where I came from. YOU CAN challenged me to explore my heart. My heart revealed Africa. I visited Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) Africa in April 2008. My first trip to Africa and I traveled alone! I was greeted by Ambassador Cherif Aidara. I was treated like a queen. I had an opportunity to experience the prosperous side of Africa and she is very beautiful. I stayed in a five star hotel, the food was great and the people were wonderful. No, I don’t speak any French and had no problems getting my point across (smile). Africa has now been completely awakened in me. YOU CAN is a catalyst for others to experience that same awakening. Africa is calling and she desires our help. Yes, there is a prosperous side of Africa and there’s also a poverty side. Does that sound familiar? If you want to be reconnected with Africa get involved and join YOU CAN today.
